Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!
GREEN FINGERS!
The Beacon, Rendlesham
To end their recent Nature Week, the toddlers enjoyed making imprints of leaves in green play-dough.
They discussed the similarities and differences of the leaves and even worked on ordering them by their size.
TAKING THE BISCUIT!
The Appletree, Attleborough
Russet room enjoyed baking biscuits! They began by measuring out ingredients using kitchen scales.
As the children spooned the ingredients into the scales, then then talked about the numbers on the scales and which numbers we needed to reach.
We then mixed the ingredients before rolling out the dough, using a cutter to make star shapes.
Once we had made all our stars, we counted them before cooking. Well done, everyone!

THE WONDER OF WORMS!
The Cornerstone, Martlesham
We had a surprise visit from a slow worm in the garden! One of the staff carefully put it in the tray for us to look at.
The children were really interested – it was a starter of lots of conversations throughout the day.
We spoke about how it was moving and how it curled up in a swirl – and we also talked about what it might like to eat and where it might live.
SPORTS STARS!
The Anchor, Huntingdon
The children enjoyed Sports Week recently. We had lots of fun with the parachute, spinning around and shaking it as high as we could.
Pre-School made an obstacle course with bean-bag throwing, hopping through hoops and crawling through tunnels.
The toddlers joined in with the parachute games in the garden.
Even the babies joined in, throwing bean bags and climbing through the tunnel.
BUZZING!
Head Start, Ramsey
Head Start went bumblebee crazy for World Bee Day!
The children learned through a range of books about how important bees are and how they gather nectar from flowers to make honey.
All of the children enjoyed lots of bee-themed activities throughout the week.
They helped to make yellow-and-black play-dough to design a bee.
We undertook some sensory play with yellow rice, bee colouring, counting, number recognition, explored yellow gloop with bee-themed shapes and made a bee model.
The children thoroughly enjoyed trying honey on toast for their snack, which was delicious.
