Nurseries News Round-Up – Week 41

Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!

GOLDEN WONDERS!

Our Director Evelyn handed out some Golden Apples awards this week for the amazing efforts of our nursery team members.

Head Start Manager Carey and Duty Manager Tracey were honoured for their tireless efforts and supreme performance, while there was also another special award…

That went to Bluebell Manager Sharon, who is off to ventures new.

Sharon was awarded a long service award in recognition and appreciation for her dedication above the call of duty, especially when she had her own very challenging situations going on.

She never gave up and continued going to support both parents and staff so they could go out there and do what they do best.

What an outstanding colleague – the Golden Apples family will miss you dearly, Sharon.

WELL-EARNED BREAK!

Bluebell, Eltisley

Abigail got seriously cosy during her break in the staff room at Bluebell! Staff welfare is of paramount important for the Golden Apples Family – so we’re always glad to see the team take a well-earned break.

TOP OF THE SHOPS!

The Beacon, Rendlesham

The children in Pre-School were very excited to be given coins to visit a toy shop!

They had to pay the cashier the required amount with the coins they had using their maths skills. Lots of counting involved in this clever maths game.

TRAY BIEN!

This exciting tray is one of the babies’ favourites – it consists of flour and oats, changing the texture of the silky flour.

It’s the perfect way to play and explore, developing the sense of touch and smell.

So much is learned through this kind of play – such as handling, gripping and spreading, leading to the development of fine motor skills.

PERFECT PANCAKES!

The Appletree, Attleborough

Wow! Bramley Room had a flip-tastic day celebrating all things Pancake Day!

We played with flour and water in the tuff tray, mixed and stirred the mixture and then, when we formed a dough, we rolled it out like pancakes.

We had pancake races in the garden and yummy pancakes for dessert after lunch – where we chose our own fabulous toppings!

BAKIN’ BUNS!

The Cornerstone, Martlesham

The children had been busy across the different rooms at the Cornerstone. They made play-dough and asked our ace cook Amanda to help make some iced buns, showing lovely turn-taking skills.

Great job, everyone!

LOVE IT!

Head Start, Ramsey

The children enjoyed joining in with craft activities based around Valentine’s Day recently.

We talked about what the day means and who we love. The children created their own cards and wrote their names inside.

They practised their scissor skills and enjoyed sticking and colouring their hearts.

We also explored flowers, making potions and perfumes!
